Modern vehicles require battery power for essential peak loads at high voltage limits and intermediate state of charge. Within ALBA workshops, a Sizing Tool has been developed for "cold cranking current" selection based on these new load profiles. The first parameterization for an lead battery that just meets the new IEC 60095-8 performance requirements is available here. Other parameter sets for lead and sodium-ion batteries are under development.
